Welcome To College Alc
Dear Student,

Vanderbilt University is committed to helping all students learn how to live well in our community. Living well means sharing your life and passions with our faculty, students and staff and engaging in the many educational opportunities we have to offer. Among other things, living well involves taking responsibility for your mental and physical health as well as being prepared to help others in need.

The University offers many resources in support of students’ well-being. CollegeAlc is one such resource. Alcohol use is common on many college campuses. As a student, you will have to make decisions about the role alcohol will play in your life. CollegeAlc is a tool that will help you make self-conscious and informed decisions about the use of alcohol.

An online, comprehensive alcohol educational program, CollegeAlc utilizes current research on college student drinking. CollegeAlc will help you explore the role of alcohol in your collegiate experience. You will learn about low risk decision-making, handling alcohol-related emergencies, and helping those who struggle with alcohol issues. The course consists of four lessons that take 20 to 30 minutes each to complete. You may log out and return to complete the program at a convenient time. All survey responses are strictly confidential; we will not see individual students’ answers. We will only receive information about the aggregated responses of students and whether or not individuals have completed the program.

Thank you for your participation in this program. We wish you a healthy and successful Vanderbilt experience.

Best regards,

Mark Bandas, Ph.D.
Associate Provost and Dean of Students
